Schuler to acquire majority stake in Chinese press manufacturer China is our fastest-growing sales market and the worldâs largest market for presses,â said Schuler CEO Stefan Klebert. By acquiring a stake in Yadon, we will gain access to a large group of Chinese customers who we previously hadnât served. At its facilities, Yadon produces mechanical presses for metal forming processes. Its clients include major Chinese companies in the automotive supply industry, as well as manufacturers of heat exchangers for air-conditioning units and suppliers of electric motors.

Sixty-three percent of tool and die shops plan to hire apprentices

Looks like things are heading up for manufacturing. This is very good news.

The Barometer, which focused on the impending talent gap within the industry, indicated that the mean age across all tool shops polled is 43, and shops are looking to apprentices to assist in replacing the workforce. According to the report, 63 percent of tool shops are planning to hire apprentices in the next 12 months. âImplementing robust employee development and training programs is key to successfully building an engaged workforce.â Another strategy shops are using to offset the talent gap and address capacity constraints is outsourcing. Sixty-three percent of tool and die shops plan to hire apprentices
